Do you fancy doing something different this Christmas ? The Norfolk Broads is a beautiful place to visit in the winter and you will find it very much quieter than in the summer months. If you fancy slipping away from the mad rush and taking a few days out for some peace and quiet, do a spot of fishing, take some gentle walks or cycle along the quiet lanes, (perhaps stopping for a toddy along the way!) this could be the break for you!
The Norfolk Broads Houseboats provide warm, comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. Located in the pretty village of Horning in the heart of the Norfolk Broads they are perfectly situated for you to enjoy a quiet Christmas or New Year.
The village has two pubs, two good restaurants, a deli, cafe, butchers, post office, gift shop, church and a small leisure centre with swimming pool & launderette - these are all within a short walk. Three miles away is the busy village of Hoveton and Wroxham which has the 'world largest village store' Roys of Wroxham, or in the other direction the famous 'Lathams' of Potter Heigham discount store and fishing centre.
On arrival your Houseboat will be decorated with minimal decorations, although of course you are welcome to bring any extra of your own. There is a full kitchen with domestic sized oven & roasting tins, fridge with ice box, the heating is electric with radiators in each room and a log effect electric wood burner in the lounge. There are two bedrooms, one double & one twin - each with duvets and extra blankets provided if needed. The Grand Lodge does have a double sofa bed in the lounge if required. The newly fitted bathrooms (Spring '09) have a large shower unit.
Price includes :- Up to 4 people, Bed linen, tea towels, bottle of mulled wine, mince pies, hot chocolate and selection boxes for children.
